Upwex is a Chrome extension and dashboard for Upwork freelancers and agencies - AI cover letters, pre-bid match scoring, auto-bidding, per-template analytics, CRM sync. We started building it in 2023 because the agency we run was losing evenings to manual proposal writing.
Who builds Upwex
Upwex is built by Synapse Team, a software studio that has been running an Upwork agency since 2018. We hit every pain Upwex now solves before we wrote the first line of code: late-night bidding, connect waste on bad-fit jobs, generic cover letters that get ignored, leads stuck in the Upwork inbox with no handoff to a real CRM.
The toolkit is dogfooded daily on our own agency's Upwork accounts. Every feature ships because we needed it ourselves first.
What we believe
- Real bylines over team-branded content. Every Upwex post carries a named author with a bio and credentials. See the authors page and our editorial policy for how content gets made.
- Honest claims over marketing fluff. If a number is uncited or we can't back it up, we don't print it. SEO-fabricated stats and fake reviews are not on the menu.
- Browser-side automation that respects Upwork's session. Upwex runs in your Chrome over your own Upwork login - no scraping, no cloud headless farms, no shared sessions. Human-paced timing on every action.
- Flat transparent pricing. Three plans, everything per tier included, no add-ons. See pricing.
How we make money
Subscription revenue from freelancers and agencies, full stop. We are not VC-funded, we do not sell user data, we do not run ads, we do not take affiliate kickbacks. The product gets better when paying users get more value, and that is the only growth lever we are optimizing.
