Your Upwork profile, scored the way the algorithm reads it.
Upwork search and the UMA matching system do not look at your profile. They read it: your title, overview,
skills, portfolio text, and even your contract names. The Profile Optimizer in Upwex runs a 29-check audit
on exactly those fields and tells you what is helping, what is hurting, and how to fix it.

Upwork Profile Optimizer · Live Demo
The Upwork Profile Score is a free 0-100 audit of your freelancer profile, built into the
Upwex extension. It runs 29 fixed checks on the fields Upwork actually indexes (title,
overview, skills, portfolio text, contract names) and shows the exact line to fix, with your own profile
quoted back to you.
How it works
No forms, no profile links to paste. The extension reads your profile the way Upwork's own systems do.
Open your Upwork profile in the browser with the Upwex extension installed.
Click Analyze Profile in the Upwex widget. The analysis takes 10 to 15 seconds.
Get your score and a section-by-section breakdown: green for what works, yellow for what could be stronger, red for what is hurting your visibility right now.
The score view: 0-100 plus every check, green to red
The findings
Not advice. Exact findings, with quotes.
Most profile tools give you generic tips. The Profile Optimizer quotes your own profile back at you.
Not "improve your title" but "your title starts with the abbreviation QBO instead of the search phrase
QuickBooks Bookkeeper." Every finding comes with a plain recommendation, and where a rewrite makes
sense, an example of what it could say instead.
The fix
Fix with AI, without invented facts.
The title, overview, and skills checks come with a Fix with AI button. It drafts a replacement built
only from facts already in your profile: your real experience, your real projects, your real numbers.
Copy the draft, paste it on Upwork, hit Re-analyze, and watch the check turn green.
Deterministic by design
Why you can trust the score.
Fixed checks, like Google PageSpeed
The same profile always gets the same score. The tool does not change its mind on every run.
Goals do not move
If it recommends a $35-60 rate, that will not become $50-80 on the next run. Apply the advice and the check closes.
Free re-analysis
Re-analyzing an unchanged profile is free. The score only moves when your profile does.
Niche changes are called out
If you switch niches, it says so and builds a new plan, instead of quietly contradicting the old one.
What gets checked
29 checks across every section of your profile. The checks on fields Upwork actually indexes (title,
overview, skills, portfolio text, contract names) carry more weight than the hygiene items.
Section
What the checks look at
Title
starts with a searchable phrase, not overloaded with separators or emoji, an offer rather than a comma list of skills
Overview
length, real numbers, your main keyword at least 3 times, human sentences, a hook in the first two lines (that is what shows in search previews)
Skills
enough of the 20 slots used, no near-duplicate terms
Portfolio
at least 3 projects, 250+ character descriptions (only text is indexed), keyword present
Contract history
completed contracts, meaningful titles instead of "Jan-March QTR"
Rate
set, and not below the fair range for your niche
Employment, certificates
2+ entries with role descriptions, no typos, at least one certificate
Yes. The analysis is included in Upwex, which comes with a free 7-day trial, no card required. Re-analyzing an unchanged profile is always free.
How is the score calculated?
29 fixed checks across your title, overview, skills, portfolio, contract history, rate, employment, certificates, and profile completeness. The checks are deterministic: the same profile always produces the same score, like a PageSpeed report for your profile.
Why does it need the extension instead of a profile link?
Most Upwork profile checker tools scrape a public profile URL and see only part of your profile. The extension reads the full profile the way Upwork's own systems do, including portfolio text and contract history, so the checks reflect what the algorithm actually indexes.
Will my score change if I change nothing?
No. The checks are fixed, so an unchanged profile keeps its score. The score only moves when your profile does.
Does Fix with AI make things up?
No. It drafts replacements using only facts already in your profile. It will not invent years of experience, client names, or statistics.
What is a good profile score?
Anything above 80 means the indexed fields are working for you. Below 60 usually means at least one heavy check (title, overview, or portfolio) is red and actively limiting your visibility.
